The EURAXIND project aims to strengthen relationships between industry and academia with the highest possible involvement of the research and industry sectors. EURAXIND addresses two key ERA priorities:

  • creating an open labour market for researchers
  • increasing the optimal circulation of, access to, and transfer of scientific knowledge

To reach these priorities, EURAXIND focuses on enabling partner organisations, and the EURAXESS network more generally, to engage more with business, provide opportunities for collaborations and build strategic partnerships. It will promote the recruitment of highly skilled researchers who can engage with businesses and are able to promote their skills to them. In this way EURAXIND will make a long-term contribution to ERA priorities and Europe’s economic prosperity.

The two main results of the project were the Industry Career Development Module and the Employer Engagement Toolkit.

  • Industry Career Development Module
As the first main project result, an online, freely accessible module for individual researchers was created. The purpose of the module is to facilitate the mapping of researcher mobility opportunities between sectors, to see what skills are valued by employers from different sectors beyond the academia and to help researchers to introduce themselves in the industry sector.
  • Employer Engagement Toolkit
As the second main result of the project, we created an online and freely accessible tool. Its purpose is to provide EURAXESS centers with resources, advice and information that will help them to make contact with the business world. The toolkit contains information about the research labour market and the applicability of research skills in different sectors, so EURAXESS employees will be able to negotiate more confidently with representatives of the business sector.

The project consortium organized one-day employer workshops in each of the seven project countries. The main purpose of the workshops is to present the project results and request feedback from employers, as well as to promote the use of the EURAXESS Jobs website. The project group also organized a two-day EURAXESS workshop in each of the seven project countries. The main purpose of the workshops is to present the project results and ask for feedback from the local members of the EURAXESS network, as well as to promote the use of the created tools in interactions between the academic and industrial sectors.

Duration of the project: 01/05/2016 – 30/04/2018
