The Kecskemét Centre for Higher Education and Industrial Cooperation (FIEK) is a project organization, which was established within the framework of the project entitled GINOP-2.3.4-15-2016-00001 FIEK: Establish the Global Automotive Research and Development Center in Hungary in cooperation with Bay Zoltán Nonprofit Ltd. for Applied Research, Neumann János University and AVL Hungary Ltd.

Consortium partners:

  • Bay Zoltán Nonprofit Ltd. for Applied Research – Consortium Leader
  • Neumann János University – Consortium Member
  • AVL Hungary Ltd. – Consortium Member

The overall goal of the project is to establish an automotive R&D center having its headquarter in Kecskemét, as well as to build a regional knowledge center for engine and vehicle development.

During the implementation of the joint research and development program, industrial research related technological and know-how developments will be implemented, which can also significantly contribute to the next generation emission reduction trends of the future. Additional goal is to integrate specialized higher education and the Hungarian research institute infrastructure, as well as to strengthen specialized professional training in the field of automotive industry.

The main focus of the research activity is to develop and analyze primary and secondary emission reduction procedures applicable to different vehicle and power types.

In this way, the project also contributes to the sectoral priorities of advanced automotive and other mechanical engineering technologies as well as sustainable environment. The objective of the R&D activity is to develop and apply state-of-the-art automotive and intelligent technologies, which allow the reduction of pollutant emission in the automotive and mechanical engineering industry by improving the operation of engines and powertrains, thus improving environmental sustainability and efficient natural resource management.
