The goal of the MetLight Metal-based Lightweight Materials project is to bring together the existing European research laboratories, creating an infrastructure network that, by producing, processing, characterizing, testing, and exploring the application possibilities of metal-based lightweight materials (light metals and metal-based hybrid materials), and recycling, and provides wide-ranging research and testing opportunities for researchers and industry representatives in the above-mentioned field of science. The purpose of the consortium is also to participate in other projects together and to exploit the innovation opportunities inherent in cost-effective production and processing technologies. On behalf of BZN, BAY ENG participates professionally in the project with its material testing competencies.

The project is implemented with the support of EIT KIC Raw Materials between January 2016 and December 2018

The project’s partner countries: Belgium, Poland, Hungary, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Ireland, Romania, Italy

The Hungarian partner of the project is Bay Zoltán Research Institute
